Christian Ethics: Pursuing Virtue Over Recognition

The pursuit of Christian ethics has been my guiding star, an encouragement to continue walking the path of faith, creativity, and virtue.

Inspiration has come from towering figures like Michelangelo, Da Vinci, St. Augustine, and St. Aquinas – men whose works have ignited in me a passion to follow in their footsteps as an artist, thinker, and dreamer. Their lives demonstrate how beauty, intellect, and faith can coexist to glorify God.

Yet, in a world obsessed with recognition – from quotable lines in newspapers to television fame – the temptation to seek adoration can be suffocating. The artists I admire are now celebrated for their works, but their legacy reminds me of the emptiness of worldly acclaim when compared to the eternal satisfaction of serving Christ.

Christ, after all, is the perfect example. After years of searching and study, no fault, sin, or shadow of evil can be found in Him. He stands alone as the one true good, the only sinless human, as Scripture affirms: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

So, must we confine ourselves to the fleeting glory of this world? I say no! Let us cast aside its chains, embrace the freedom Christ offers, and strive to live in His image. For in Him alone do we find the true purpose of our lives: to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
