Hello, allow me to introduce myself — my name is Ronald Tukesiga, and I’m a newly minted writer on a journey of self-discovery and creative exploration. It was only this year that I embraced the title of ‘writer,’ and as I sit down to reflect on my path, I can’t help but marvel at the twists and turns that have led me here.
Before this chapter began, my life took me through various sectors, like retail, as I sought to find my place in the world. I grappled with the question of identity and purpose, yearning for that one thing that would ignite my spirit and give meaning to my existence. Little did I know that my journey would eventually lead me to the world of words.
The turning point came when I applied for a writing opportunity with Evolution Writers and, to my surprise, was accepted. This chance marked the start of a transformative period in my life. Stepping into the realm of writing, I found myself not only putting words on paper but also delving deep into my thoughts, emotions, and experiences. With each sentence I crafted, a hidden passion began to unfurl within me.
Through this newfound outlet, I started to understand myself better than ever before. Writing became more than just a series of words; it became a mirror reflecting my innermost feelings and aspirations. The clarity I gained through the process was nothing short of enlightening. It was as if the words I penned were the missing pieces of a puzzle I had been struggling to solve for years.
As part of my writing journey, I was encouraged to assemble a collection of poems. Each poem was a canvas on which I could paint my thoughts, fears, hopes, and dreams. This poetic endeavor has become a personal challenge as I set my sights on composing a total of 100 poems. These poems will eventually undergo the transformative process of editing, compilation, and publication, paving the way for the world to witness my creative evolution.
