When Life Ends

When life ends,

Does death begin?

The coldness of it all

The somberness

The cuddling of loneliness

The emptiness of humility.

As I left my life,

Falling through the dark tunnel that is death

Who would hold me

Who would care for me?

The emptiness that engulfs my soul

The hopelessness that takes its place

And yet, my death has not yet begun.

I am still living,

My eyes are still wide open,

And yet my life has ended

And yet my life has ended.
